What is covered
The term on every film and coating we install, and the written terms that come with them.
What is covered
Two things are covered and they are worth keeping apart. The material carries the manufacturer's warranty for the term shown against it above — that is C. GritGuard, BOP Defender Matte, BOP Challenger PLUS and PRO on film, and the CARPRO coatings on paint. The installation carries ours.
On the film itself, cover is against the ways protection film fails rather than wears: yellowing, cracking, blistering, delamination, staining that will not come out, and loss of the self-healing property on the series that have it.
On our installation, cover is against lifting edges, trapped dirt or bubbles that were there when the car left us, and film or coating that has been cut, aligned or laid in a way we would not accept ourselves. There is no time limit on us having fitted it wrong — that is our work, not the material's.
On coating, cover is against the coating failing or delaminating from the paint within its term. Gloss and water behaviour change over the life of any coating and are maintained rather than warranted; we will tell you at the counter what to expect from the tier you are buying, and it is not a defect when it happens.
Bring a claim to us first, whichever it turns out to be. We deal with the manufacturer on your behalf rather than sending you to them — you bought the car's protection from this studio.
Colour change materials
Coloured TPU PPF carries the term shown against it above, on the same basis as the clear film: it is a protection film that happens to change the colour, and it is covered as one.
Cast vinyl is supplied without a warranty term, and we would rather say so plainly than publish a number we cannot stand behind. Vinyl is a finish, not a protective layer — its life depends on colour, finish, how the car is parked and how it is washed, and any figure we printed would be a guess dressed as a promise.
That is not the same as no recourse. Our installation is covered exactly as it is on any other material: if vinyl we fitted lifts, wrinkles or fails at a seam because of how it was laid, we put it right. What is not covered is the material fading, chalking or ageing over time.
What ends cover
These end cover on the affected panel. Everywhere else on the car is unaffected — a warranty is not all-or-nothing, and we are not looking for a reason to refuse the whole car.
- Automatic car washes, of any kind. Brush and touchless both: brushes lift edges and touchless relies on chemistry strong enough to strip a coating. - Pressure washing closer than 15 cm to any film edge, or at an angle that drives water under it. - Polish, compound, abrasive or wax applied to film or coating by anyone other than this studio. - Accident damage, vandalism, fire, flood, hail, and anything an insurer would call a peril. - Stone strikes and road debris that damage the paint through the film. Film reduces this; it does not make a car impact-proof, and a chip is not a film defect. - Re-spray, paint repair or panel replacement on a covered panel, which ends cover on that panel because the surface underneath is no longer the one we protected. - Removal, lifting or re-installation of film or coating by another shop. - Damage from paint that was already failing when we started — clear coat lifting, previous respray delaminating — where we flagged it before work and you asked us to proceed.
We do not require you to return for scheduled maintenance to keep cover. We will recommend intervals and we would like to see the car, but missing one does not end anything.
How to claim
Written as steps because it is a sequence. In practice most of it happens in one WhatsApp message and one visit.
1. Message or call us on the studio line with photographs of what you are seeing, and your registration number. Photographs first save you a trip if it turns out to be something we can answer immediately. 2. We respond within three working days, and normally the same day. 3. If we need to see it, we look at the car here. Assessment is free whether or not the claim succeeds. 4. We tell you what we have found, whether it is covered, and under whose cover — ours or the manufacturer's. If it is theirs, we raise it with them; you do not have to. 5. Where a claim succeeds, the remedy is repair or re-application of the affected panel, at no cost to you for either labour or material. Where a panel cannot be brought back to standard, we re-apply the whole section rather than leave a visible join. 6. Re-application under warranty continues the original term. It does not restart it, and it does not shorten it.
Bring your invoice or your CAA Passport if you have it to hand. If you do not, we can still find the job — every layer we put on a car is recorded against its registration, with the series, the batch and the date.
If the car is sold
Cover follows the car, not the owner, and it transfers with a sale. The protection was paid for once and it is part of what the next owner is buying.
There is no fee and no limit on how many times it transfers. Tell us the car has changed hands so we can move the Passport across — that is what lets the new owner claim without producing the original invoice, which by then they will not have.
A transfer does not extend or restart the term. Whatever remains, remains.
When cover starts and stops
Cover starts the day the car is collected, not the day it was booked or invoiced, and runs for the term shown against the material above.
Nothing pauses it. A car that is stored, exported or off the road for a year is a year further through its term when it comes back, because the material has aged either way.
The one thing that ends a term early is the panel no longer being the one we protected — see what ends cover, above.
These are C. Auto Aesthetics' standard terms, published so you can read them before you decide rather than after you have paid. The written terms issued with your invoice and recorded on your CAA Passport are the ones that govern any claim on your car; where they differ from this page, they win. Ask us for a copy before you book and we will send it.
